The R&D-department of B-Style is responsible for the development and engineering of all B-Style sold products. We design lowered floor conversion kits for small vehicles and vans, as well as floor and seating systems for bigger vans and busses.
Assignment/ work/ activities:
Currently the world is changing in an even more rapid pace due to the effects of the Covid-pandemic. Due to a global shortage of raw materials we are facing quite the battle. As of this year prices of raw materials and finished products are climbing rapidly. Unfortunately we operate in a marketplace which has set sales prices which dictates the need for cost reduction, now more than ever.
As all of our products are tested and homologated we are looking for a student who can think outside of the box and can come up with (all) ways of reducing costs. Think of eliminating parts (without losing functionality), simplifying parts, a change of production techniques and possibly a redesign which will pay for itself. For this project we will have a look at one specific lowered floor conversion.
At B-Style we provide a safe and enjoyable workspace. You will be part of a department full of former Automotive students who provide proper guidance, among other things, based on experience. Financially we offer 500 euros per month compensation.
You have the following competences/ skills:
We would prefer a student educated in mechanical/automotive engineering with possibly a specialization in lean/smart manufacturing. We require you to be able to use SolidWorks or similar CAD-applications. In-depth knowledge of (sheet)metal fabrication would be preferable.
We are looking for a student who is willing to collaborate, but can work independently on a daily basis.
Preferably you work systematicly, but remain open to input of others.
