Short description assignment:

Sensata Technologies is the global market leader in sensors for automotive. Sensata in Hengelo develops high-voltage distribution units allowing control of the battery charging power in battery electric vehicles in safe manner. The unit contains high power switches to connect the charging socket to the batteries and the fuses to break the circuit in case of emergency. For safe operation and lower costs, Sensata has developed a unique high-voltage and high current multi-switch, called configurator. To find the limits and improvement areas, the concepts for this configurator need to be built, tested, characterized and results analyzed. For this assignment the intern students or graduate students, in cooperation with the responsible design engineers, will define tests and projects, improve test equipment, conduct tests and analyze results.

Description company: In the transition to electrical vehicles, Sensata wants to expand leadership to critical electrical components in cars and thereby enable a cleaner and safer world. To enable leadership, Sensata deploys state-of-the-art engineering, including modeling, Design for Six Sigma, FEA and top-class testing equipment, like CT scan, SAM, SEM.

Description department: The student will work from the site in Hengelo.
