Winner ACE Student Award 2022

ACE Student Award 2022 goes to research on ammonia as a fuel for trucks

On Tuesday 5 July, the annual ACE Student Award took place in the Fontys building on the Automotive Campus in Helmond. Robin Huijerjans, student of Fontys Hogescholen in Eindhoven, won the ACE Student Award 2022, together with the famous check for a 3- or 4-day trip to a GP in Europe of your choice. He competed against 4 other nominated students from HAN and Fontys who conducted their research at Mitsubishi Turbocharger & Engine Europe BV, Nooteboom Trailers BV, Ebusco BV and Hyster-Yale Group.

Ammonia as a fuel for trucks
Robin carried out his graduation assignment at VIRO Echt. During his graduation period, he researched the possibility of ammonia as a fuel for trucks that travel long distances. The higher energy density and easier storage make ammonia a very good option. With a substantive video presentation about his graduation research and his performance during the event, he convinced the four-member jury and took off with the prize.

We wish all nominated students every success with the start of their career within the automotive industry. Keep an eye on our website and social media because soon all video presentations will be available online.
